Cola Studios is a full-service interior design firm founded by Olya Dmitrieva and Sam Colamussi. With a foundation in fine arts training and a deep passion for design, Olya and Sam bring a unique perspective to their work, blending their formal education in interior design with their artistic sensibilities. With over 20 years of combined experience, collaborating with world-renowned architectural and boutique design firms, they bring a wealth of knowledge across various sectors, including high-end residential, hospitality, and large-scale retail projects.

Sam Colamussi

Co-Founder

A New York native, Sam found her passion for art and design at a young age through fine art and sculpture, apprenticing under local artists. This laid the foundation for her journey into the world of Interior Design, determined to "sculpt space". With a formal education in Environmental Interior Design and her NCIDQ certification, she possesses a unique perspective, blending her artistic background with a deep understanding of materiality, technical skills, and visual communication.

Her career took off when she joined the globally prestigious architectural design firm, Gensler, in the Lifestyle Retail/Hospitality Studio. She honed her skills leading diverse projects for high-profile fashion companies, big tech, and luxury hospitality groups. It was here that Sam crossed paths with her future business partner, Olya, laying the groundwork for their collaboration and passion for working at a more personal level with their clients on high-end residential projects.

As the Co-Founder of COLA STUDIOS, Sam brings her wealth of experience and innovative approach to every project. Sam's charismatic personality and design philosophy around prioritizing human connection and spatial relationships allows her to craft environments that evoke profound emotional responses.

OLYA DMITRIEVA

Co-Founder

Olya moved to New York City from Russia to pursue a career in interior design, expanding her diverse education and background in studying classical fine art and public relations. She honed her skills at the New York School of Interior Design, which prepared her for her role at the globally renowned architectural firm Gensler. There, she led interior efforts for luxury retail and hospitality projects, refining her skills in storytelling and building experiences.

After years of commercial design, Olya made the transition to high-end residential design at Romanek Design Studio in Los Angeles, where she led the design team and had the privilege of working closely with the founder on prestigious celebrity clients' homes. 

As COLA STUDIOS Co-Founder, Olya believes interior design is more than just aesthetics; it's about forging emotional connections and turning houses into homes. She finds fulfillment in helping clients infuse their personal style and essence into every corner, creating spaces that are deeply personal.
